Born to be Wild

Born to be Wild

I was inspired to create this Polyvore set by the campaign for Ralph Lauren's Denim & Supply line, available at Macy's department store and online at Macy's.com. The line is younger, with a sort of americana/rock n' roll feel. Graphic tees, military style jackets, and distressed denim are staples of the label.

Ariel

Ariel

My favorite Disney movie still serves as inspiration to me today. I'm not ashamed to admit it! Mermaids are awesome. They're magical and beautiful. I created this Polyvore set thinking of how a mermaid would dress on land. Also, I think it's the cutest thing in the world that my boyfriend convinced his daughter that I am in fact, Ariel, a real-life mermaid. I suppose I should start dressing the part?

Mod for Fall

Mod for Fall

The classics: record players, Coca-Cola, a black turtleneck. I love pops of red in any form - in an article of clothing, an accessory, or as a lip shade. Redheads can't wear red? Pfffft.

Fast & Furious

Fast & Furious

Gal Gadot is my girl crush. In Fast and Furious, she doesn't look like she could kick your ass, but she makes up for it with major attitude and weapons. I like how functional her wardrobe is for the movie. She looks effortlessly cool, and she's naturally gorgeous. She was Miss Israel 2004, after all!

happy earth day!

My dad brought me the bottom two bracelets from Honduras a few years ago. I bought the top three while on vacation in Florida last summer. They're really long and can be twisted and wrapped a million different ways to be worn as necklaces, bracelets, belly jewelery, whatever! Check out http://www.zulugrass.com/.

We also can't forget that today was Earth Day. Montreal-based designer Mulcair makes some great sweaters using organic and sustainable materials. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Things are much easier when you remain neutral. That goes for clothing, too. I also firmly believe that accessories can make or break an outfit. I tied the belt on to identify my waistline more and to tie in the shoes with the outfit. I actually almost twisted my ankle about five times walking to and from class in those puppies, but I'm going to say it was worth the effort. I found these great khaki denim capris at United Apparel Liquidators in Nashville. They sell second hand designer clothes - Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs.. you name it. They also sell new clothes, like these Deebers capris I snagged last summer for under $20.
