let the sunshine in

My. Legs. Are. So. Sore. From. Dancing. ALL WEEKEND.

This weekend was the first ever MTSU Salsa Congress, which I helped organize as part of my MTSU Salsa Club officer duties. I also learned a ton from attending the workshops taught by the amazing instructors including Music City Salsa, Proyecto Barrio and Pasofino. The performances were great and really inspiring. Overall, it was a fun weekend of good food, sexy choreography and lots of spinning. Lots... of spinning. I hope to have pics from the event up soon. And now I have to go to salsa practice. Sorry, legs.

On the brightside, it's beautiful outside and the semester is almost over! My summer plan:

la musica que te prende...

El Colombian Party Cartel!

Last night I had the pleasure of being a "sexy little guest" on the local latin radio station dj'd by friends Carey and Leonardo. Dara, the MTSU Salsa Club President, and I, the Public Relations Officer, stopped by to talk about the 1st ever Salsa Congress this weekend that we're hosting. I got to read some introductions in spanish and some PSAs (en ingles). It was a cool experience! Then Latin Grammy-nominated recording artist Michael Stuart stopped by to talk about his show at Ibiza happening tonight. He was wearing his shades the entire time he was in the studio.. like a true star. He's a really cool guy though and I'm so glad I got to meet him! His website is still in the works, but I'll be looking out for it.

After the show we rushed out of the studio and ate dinner at Cantina Laredo, the gourmet mexican place in the Gulch. It. Was. DELICIOUS. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer and the waiters bring the fresh avacados to your table and make it right in front of you! Amazing. Carey ordered the fajita plate for me and I'm sooo glad he did. It included a mix of grilled chicken, ribs, steak, quail, and.. something else. The best part was definitely the quail. We actually didn't even use the tortillas. I found it was more pleasing to see all of my food while I ate it. Definitely a great night!

P.S. Listen to 91.1 WRVU every Thursday from 5-6pm for awesome salsa music!

Everyone in the studio.

Stud muffin.

The smallest space I've salsa danced in so far.
